Reopen district courts of Vadodara including family courts and deliver pending verdicts

The Issue

Demand to reopen district courts of Vadodara including family courts and deliver pending verdicts:
After stalled judicial functioning in the lower courts for over 4 months due to COVID19 pandemic and lockdown there are no news of reopening the courts. The pendency of cases is running into lakhs. People are waiting for justice for at least a decade. In UNLOCK 1 all private offices, malls, restaurants and even government offices are open except the courts. Till how long judicial judges and staff will be allowed to sit home? even government school teachers have resumed their duties. Media reports several district courts in Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata etc have reopened. No courts in the world are on lockdown except in India.
“It’s uncertain at this point in time when the pandemic will end and we’ve no option but to live with the viral outbreak. The court should resume physical hearings from 1st July 2020 at Vadodara, Gujarat including family courts.
Courts should deliver judgments which remained pending due to abrupt closure of courts because to the nationwide lockdown since March 2020. Various Bar Associations and common public are demanding to reopen the courts but no one is bothered to listen and act. We demand to open district courts of Vadodara including family courts and deliver their pending judgements.
Vadodara’s New District and session court has been recently constructed on 55,000/- sq. meter Land, it has a facility of 76 fully furnished courts, 2 Video Courts, 1 Conference Hall, Training Hall, separate building for lawyers and Mediation Rooms. All the Court Rooms are having separate chamber/rooms for Judicial Officer, Staff Members and Stenographers. All court rooms are specious enough with proper seating arrangement for Litigants with social distancing. The court constructed is an art in itself with huge space.
The court should resume with judges, staff, only required lawyers and pre-decided parties who have matters reserved for ORDER should be allowed following all social distancing norms and precautionary measures. Huge number of cases can be resolved, and people can get justice. Through this petition I request the Law minister and Gujarat High Court to act on the same and help common people and restart the judicial system.
Help me address this injustice! Sign my petition to ensure district courts of Vadodara including family courts are reopened for judgement from 1st July 2020.
