Reimburse students left for days without water at Sundial Court

The Issue

Students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama pay over £150 per week for basic university accommodation. Students have continually been failed by the water supply at their residence, on three occasions in the past few months, students have lost their water supply.

Even though we're students, we pay rent, which includes our bills, and expect to have access to running water. On the times we've not had a supply, people have not been able to wash, flush faeces from toilets, or drink. Sometimes the loss of service has been in excess of 12 hours.

We have spoken to the Head of Facilities, however at this stage, we are informed that they will not reimburse us. We believe this is completely unfair, as our water bill is included in our rent - we are paying for a service which is not being provided.

Now we call upon members of the school community and friends to show solidarity and unite, standing up for the right of fee-paying students to have access to this basic yet essential supply.

So please, sign our petition - it'll take a few seconds and help to show your support in fighting for what's right. The Corporation might think we'll give up this fight easily - but we shall stay strong, stand our ground and campaign for a reimbursement for these continuing water outages. Our voice will be heard!
