This saddened polar bear is trapped in a small enclosure at the Grandview shopping center in Guangzhou, China. If you take a look at the video and photos, you will see the complete sadness in the animal’s eyes. This majestic creature has lost his faith in humanity and has nothing to live for. This poor polar bear belongs anywhere but in a mall! And polar bears are not the only animals that can be found at what has been dubbed as one of the saddest zoos in the world: the mall also displays a collection of six young belugas, five walrus calves, a wolf and artic foxes. 6 Outraged Chinese citizens have urged the population to boycott the shopping center, but there have been plenty of curious people eager to snap a photo of the majestic polar bear – an animal that has become a shadow of his former self. What is wrong with keeping a polar bear in a mall? Polar bears belong in their natural environment. They require vast amout of space so they can fulfill their physical needs – such as running, climbing, walking – and hunting. Experts believe polar bears are one of the hardest of all animals to keep in captivity. As soon as they are deprived of their natural habitat, polar bears start to experience ‘stereotypic’ behaviours. Keeping the bear trapped in a small enclosure is inhumane and should not be happening. And for what is all this needless suffering? Just so ignorant people can take a photo of the bear? Lets help set all of these animals free! The wolf, the polar bear, the attic foxes, the whales and walruses!! No animal deserves this kind of life! Take action and ask the Grandview mall to remove all the animals and ship them back into their natural habitat. Together we can end this suffering of these animals! These trapped and forgotten souls need a voice – please be one for them.
