We want a merit-based promotion.
The Issue
GTU IS NOT READY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IN CASE ANY STUDENT IS INFECTED DUE TO EXAM (GTU wants exam but they are not ready to take responsibility).
This petition is filed because the educational institute GTU is not providing satisfactory answers and is risking the lives of 1,20,000 final year students and more than 14,000 professors and teaching staff.
At the time when the lockdown was announced in many of GTU affiliated colleges, the syllabus was not completed, and after the announcement of the complete lockdown the students who lived in hostel left for their home, many went without books or luggage expecting to return within a week. But as we know we went into complete lockdown for 68 days and in it is still going on for some region. Many students didn't have their books during the lockdown.
The syllabus is incomplete in most colleges and there were only few colleges where online lectures were conducted.
The hardware requirement for the online exam is also not accessible by everyone especially considering many students come from rural areas.
Also, many students are living in an area where they lack a steady internet connection.
And GTU doesn't seem to take interest in listing to their students also they have warned their affiliated colleges to not speak about merit-based promotion to them or action might be taken.
Take a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm1COnS1lT8&feature=youtu.be
There are professors who support the idea of merit-based promotion but their voice is suppressed by GTU.
Think what happens if a student or a professor gets infected, then they will infect their family members and other people who comes in their contact which will create a chain reaction leading to a disaster.
Below are links to what will happen.

Is it worth risking the lives of more than 1,20,000 students and 14,000 staff members??
The delay in the exam means a delay in a result which leads to a delay in admission, which is not a good thing. If they are really thinking for the students then why miss these points?
AND WORST OF ALL GTU IS NOT READY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IN CASE ANY STUDENT IS INFECTED DUE TO EXAM!!!
All we ask for is a Merit-Based Promotion and a healthy future for us and our family.
