Put Ascension Providence Hospital in Southfield under new management, or shut it down.

The Issue

Now imagine taking yourself or your loved one to a hospital to receive professional help and instead they endure abuse from those supposed professionals? Well that is what will happen if you go to Ascension Providence in Southfield. They claim to be a Catholic hospital but clearly display that they have no respect or regard for human life in general and that goes against this concept completely. Not only have I personally been mistreated when I was seeking help during an extremely difficult time, but I’ve talked to multiple people who have shared their similar experiences, and I’ve read other articles about how they disregarded the needs of a woman set to give birth.

The employees display no compassion or empathy whatsoever and I think that’s very necessary in a place with ill people. Specifically mentally ill people. The conditions of the mental health facility are atrocious. The nurses are racist and snappy and the food is cold and hard. The pillows and mattresses are made of thin plastic and the blankets are made with the same material as bath towels. And if you get cold? Doesn’t matter to them, they’re hot, so the air will stay on high in the middle of January and they will lie and say it has to be fixed. They constantly put their own wants before the patients’ needs and that’s just unacceptable.

Furthermore, if a facility claims to be dedicated to the health of its patients it would make sense that they prioritize it. Meaning, not telling a patient they are on their way to hell for their religious beliefs and applying scientific research to treatment methods. There is countless evidence that proves how beneficial sunlight and fresh air are for a person’s mental health and they don’t allow their patients neither. Instead, they give them pills that no one can do research on and lie about what the pills are and what their purpose is. If you don’t take them, they’ll summon you to court. Oh and don’t let the pills have side effects. They just simply replace it with another pill or pills, meaning more chemicals, thus extending the length of the stay. This is dangerous and can make a condition even worse. Not to mention the ‘therapy sessions’ are only held once a day for an hour, and then they harass you expecting you to pay them thousands after you’re released. (I told them to kiss my butt), but my guess is they pocket the funding they receive too.

Of course they have a ‘patients rights’ office, simply for the purpose that it sounds good because they don’t do sh-t! No one gets held accountable, thus why it continues. So if a hospital is not serving its purpose, what should happen to that hospital? That answer is why I started this petition. More people should know what’s going on so something can be done. People are suffering in a place where they seek relief, so I thank you for signing and sharing this and helping me fight this fight!
