We are starting this petition in hopes to help our homelessness issue in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. We want to petition for a tent city to be put up for our homeless beside S.H.A.R.E which is located at 1750 6 Ave W, Prince Albert, SK S6V 7T4. I myself lived here 27 years and the big lot beside there has sat empty which would make a perfect spot for a tent city! Seeing as our council wants the homeless away from the downtown district by the homeless having there own area to call their own it will give the city council what they want and give the homeless a place of their own. We are willing to build little huts for them out of donated pallets and scrap wood so they have somewhere warm to lay their head at night. We are also willing to voluntarily clean up after them and do clean up once a week. We understand this area is close to the railway tracks but given the fact a majority of these homeless people sleep near the tracks and the council does nothing anyway I don't see an issue there. If need be we would also be willing to put a fence around their tent city which i'm sure we can get fencing donated and erect the fences ourselves. We are just a small group of local parents who want to go above and beyond to help our brothers and sisters that sleep on the street. I hope with these new council members this decision will be considered.
