Help Free My Brother serving 80 yrs for a non violent drug charge in texas
The Issue
Hello Fellow Brothers and Sisters. My Name is Jacob Rangel, I'm 25 years old from Taylor Texas. My Brother Bennie Paul Rangel, 35, has been incarcerated for almost ten years this June for a non violent Drug Charge. He has 3 children that have spent most of their lives visiting their Father in Texas state Prisons.
When my brother was arrested, he was busted with 1 lb of marijuana, 1 oz, of cocaine, and 1 oz of Narcotics. He was given 10 years for the drugs, but he was slapped with 70 yrs for a Gun that wasn't loaded and had no fingerprints on it. The Former D.A. John Bradley, Was the persecutor in this trial. He has been debarred from the Williamson County Sheriffs Department, and has Now moved to the Philippines According to the Attorney we spoke to. He destroyed my brothers Character, and also blackmailed witness that were serving Probation, and offered them cuts on their probation. According to the transcripts of the trial. One officer that was involved with the SWAT raid on his room, said that my brother complied with orders, he was boastful, but complied, then he stated that a conflict broke out, no distinct description. This SWAT officer was the only one on the Witness List. After all the witnesses that were to be called gave their testimonies, Another SWAT officer was called to the stand, stating my brother reached for a gun and started fighting. If he reached for a Gun, he would've had to load the clip, and insert it into the Gun. According to the photo evidence of how the room was laid out. The Gun was in a nightstand that was closest to the door, according to the 1st officer my brother was arrested and assumed the position on the bed closest to the restroom. He would've had to leap over the two beds in the hotel room to get to the nightstand. The DA continued to throw assumptions towards my brother, comparing him to Pablo Escobar, Scarface, And Al Capone. He said my brother wanted to be the new face on kids T-Shirts.
My brother has changed his life, He served 7 years in segregation and has now been in population for 3 yrs. He was recently moved further away from us, which has become difficult for my mother to visit him due to her Disabilities with Her Eyes and Arthritis. my Brother Has become the new Pastor at his new unit. He gives spoken word to the inmates and has been changing lives he says. He is a Servant of The Lord. He served his Ten Years for the Drugs, He doesn't Deserve the Injustice given to him with these 70 years he is still facing. He can Be A very valuable and inspiring person to our community, that allot of the youth around here need. His oldest son is about to finish his last year in school, and his two youngest are facing allot of the same trials The oldest faced. John is 17, Ethan is 15, and his daughter Aubrey is 11.
