The majority of students believe that our dress codes are unjustly strict, especially on girls.

Currently, we are not allowed to wear
- skirts, shorts, or dresses that don't touch the knee
- tank tops or any shirt that exposes the shoulder
- pants with holes above the knee
- crop tops or shirts that show any skin above the pants

Wade Hampton, on the other hand, has these rules.
- undergarments/privates have to be covered (except for bra straps at the shoulder)
- shirts have to have some kind of strap up top
- shirt has to touch their pants (for example, a jacket over a crop top)

This set of rules is much more reasonable. It allows people to wear less clothes, which makes sense for the incredibly hot school days that we often have here. It also keeps everything appropriate. The current dress code is more distracting than not having one; it makes no sense to send someone home to change out of an appropriate sleeveless top and jeans, missing class, because they would "distract someone" with their shoulders. It is far more detrimental to education to send people home from school than to let them wear shorts. Greenville County Schools, please take the progressive route here and encourage schools to make the switch.
