Stop Re-zoning of 4465 & 4485 Old Battleground Road

The Issue

Do we really need more apartments in North Greensboro?  A local developer has applied for the re-zoning of the 4465 and 4485 Old Battleground properties in order to replace these single-family home farmlands with an eight building apartment complex containing 320 apartments and two large retention ponds.  There would be two entrances into this complex, one directly across from White Horse Farms Road and the other across from Steepleshire Place.  There are no plans included or even being considered by the City for the increased traffic that will be created at the intersection of Old Battleground, Horse Pen Creek and Battleground roads.

Why should you be concerned?  Because ultimately, to ease traffic congestion the City will be required to take land for wider roads which will decrease property values.  Not just property values around the road but all property values in the neighborhoods on Old Battleground.  For those homes around this apartment complex, the only option they will have to is sell to other developers and the construction of apartment complexes will not stop.

Your signature is needed to let the Zoning Commission and City know that we oppose this re-zoning and want to preserve our quality of life!
