Why this petition matters

Started by Eric Robert

If you live in Arlington Park, Ole Asheboro, South Side, Warnersville, Gorrell St or anywhere within the downtown area...this concerns you!

Greensboro Redevelopment Commission voted in favor of bringing a long-awaited grocery store at the corner of Gate City Blvd and South Elm Street (across from the nursing school at Union Square). The Greensboro planning Department is also in favor of the project.

Most neighbors and surrounding neighborhoods also support the project. The area has been acknowledged as a food desert, and a grocery store would benefit the community at large.

While we live in one of the poorest census tract in the city,  a wealthy  and loathsome developer, with the support of a tax payer funded non profit (DGI) is trying to prevent this project from happening.

This is a health issue, not a wealth issue!.

The matter is to come up before city council on Tuesday February 15th.
