The Abolishing of the Dress Code for Green Charter Upper School

The Abolishing of the Dress Code for Green Charter Upper School
The Issue
The strict non-lenient uniform dress code upheld by the Green Charter Upper Campus is a restriction of Comfort, Expression, and Personal Freedoms.
Dress Code: "GREEN Charter School will be using a uniform dress code. Uniforms consist of a polo shirt with the school logo on it and any approved top from the school or Lands' End online store or any solid navy blue outerwear. Bottoms must be beige/khaki and be either full length pants, capri length pants, Bermuda length shorts for all grades, and also, for the K-3rd grade students the additional option of knee-length skorts. More information on uniform details can be found within the Student Handbook." Direct Source Green Charter Uniforms
Dress Down Days: Days where you can wear anything you would like to but it comes with a $5 fee. Most students at Green Charter and their parents believe this is overpriced and many believe it puts a price on Comfort and Personal expression.
The Student Majority: Many students are becoming more dissatisfied with the dress code every day due to the harsh punishments that are delivered to first-offenders, for example, first-offenders have been asked to drive home and change, or call their parents to bring them clothes, in many if not most cases, parents are working and having them leave work could be extremely consequential.
Why do you not just leave the school?: "Charter schools are meant to serve under-served communities that wish to have alternatives to their neighborhood school." Opportunities are very expansive in Green Charter, and due to the flawed routing system provided my Greenville County Schools some students are zoned for high schools they live far away from, and in the situations where that situation is not a reality, programs you may find in Green Charter are nonexistent in regular high schools, Green Charter has very successful graduation rates and teachers that teach at this facility are all hard working, caring, and compassionate individuals, in some cases they are hard to come across in public schools.
The Compromise: We are calling for the formal removal of the Uniform Policy.
