The Issue

If you love hockey—whether you play it, coach it, watch it, or cheer your kids on from the stands—this is your moment.

We’ve all seen firsthand how hockey transforms lives. It teaches grit, teamwork, and respect. And it brings families together in a way few things can. That’s why I’m urging you to support a new state-of-the-art facility in Greeley that will be the new home of Northern Colorado Youth Hockey and can serve teams and clubs throughout the Rocky Mountain region.

With four full NHL-sized ice sheets, 18 new youth hockey locker rooms, restaurants, a hotel, and additional amenities, the new facility (which is part of the new Greeley-approved and -owned entertainment district) can help us elevate youth hockey development, expand our programs, and increase access to ice sports for athletes of all ages and skill levels.

These new rinks make it possible to host professional and amateur tournaments, festivals, learn-to-skate programs, adult leagues, and youth hockey camps – and build Northern Colorado’s reputation as a center of excellence for ice sports.

But we need your voice.
City Council will soon vote on the lease that makes all of this possible. Signing this petition tells them loud and clear: Weld County wants this. Greeley deserves this. Our kids deserve this.

If you believe in what hockey teaches…
If you believe every kid deserves access to the sport they love…
If you believe Northern Colorado is ready for something bigger…

Sign the petition. Let’s give youth hockey a permanent home in Northern Colorado.

Erik KnudsenPetition StarterI’ve seen what hockey can do for athletes, families, and communities. We’ve worked to grow youth hockey across NoCo, and the new Greeley facility enables us to expand programs and host tournaments for kids of all ages and skill levels.
