Save the gifted river Godavari

Save the gifted river Godavari
The Issue
River Godavari is the second longest river in India after river Ganga. Once known as the most beautiful and powerful (sacred) river, it is now getting destroyed by pollution from industrial waste, chemical residue , effluents , agricultural (untreated) sewage from local villages and towns. A lot of the population of local agricultural lands surrounding the river , depend so much on the river for the use of water and if anything worse happens to the river the agricultural lands (and local villages) will face severe water scarcity.
In the era we live, is limited with natural resources that can only last an estimated amount of time (including water) , as a part of the ecosystem it is our responsibility to save and sustain what we are left with. In the case of the river Godavari , it is very limited yet is still providing water resources throughout India, which we should support but not further destroy.
I request the Government to start taking action on the industrial waste , chemical residue, effluents that are frequently loaded in the river ; providing sewage treatment (for the agricultural waste ) ; providing more trash and recycling bins (in context to the different types of disposal waste ) to make sure visitors and tourists of the river do not litter around as much.
The change is important and much needed for the river and the environment. To make sure appropriate and faster action is taken on this issue you can help by signing this petition.
