RE: Petition for Traffic Safety Measures
Dear Chief Pearson,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing on behalf of the Greater Satellite Beach community to express our deep concern regarding the alarming issue of excessive and dangerous speeding within our residential neighborhoods, with particular emphasis on Cassia Blvd. Our aim is to address this issue with the utmost professionalism, mutual respect, and a genuine desire to enhance the safety and well-being of our community.
This beloved neighborhood has long been a haven of tranquility, where families have raised their children, and residents have enjoyed the simple but extraordinary pleasures of “beach life.” However recently the serene community has been disrupted by the reckless and dangerous speeding that has become all too common on Cassia Blvd. as well as many surrounding streets. This situation poses a severe threat to the safety of our residents, particularly our children and pets who play in the vicinity, as well as those who walk, bike, skateboard, etc. in the area.
We wish to emphasize that our intention is not to cause undue difficulties or disrupt the harmony of our community. Instead, we are writing to you, our elected officials, because we believe in the power of collective action and constructive dialogue. Our foremost request is the installation of speed bumps on Cassia Blvd. to deter speeding and make our streets safer for everyone. We understand that there might be alternative solutions or additional measures that could address this problem effectively, and we are open to discussing these options in a collaborative manner.
We recognize that you, as our representatives, share our commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of life in our community. We believe that by working together, we can find a solution that not only addresses our concerns but also aligns with the broader vision of creating a safe and vibrant neighborhood for all.
In closing, we urge you to seriously consider our petition and engage in a meaningful conversation with us, the residents of Greater Satellite Beach. Our community's safety is a matter of paramount importance, and we trust that you will take the necessary steps to address this issue promptly and effectively.
Thank you for your attention to this pressing matter. We look forward to hearing from you and working together to restore the safety and tranquility of our cherished neighborhood.
With kindness and sincerity,
Alycia J. Pollock, on behalf of many of residents in the greater Satellite Beach community
