This is a personal plea from a woman who has been denied the right to choose regarding her own body. Doctors have consistently ignored her requests for sterilisation, insisting that she may change her mind or meet a partner who wants children. Trapped on contraception for over two decades, she suffers with ongoing physical pain. This petition is not just about one person, but it's a spotlight on the persistent struggle for a multitude of women across the globe facing similar situations. Clinicians refuse to acknowledge their firm decisions relating to childbearing due to hypothetical future scenarios. This procedure should be available free of charge to any woman wanting or needing to access it. 

In a study conducted by VCU School of Medicine, women who requested sterilisation at a young age were often denied. Their research pointed out that being younger, childless, or expressing concern about regret significantly reduced the likelihood of patients obtaining sterilisation. This situation highlights how the medical fraternity often disregards women's autonomy over their own bodies.

It's time to stand up against this patronising censorship on women's reproductive rights.
