In the 1940s there were star baseball players all over the US, Canada and the world who joined the AAGPBL. Yet in 1955 Woman were banned from player in the professional "mens" league.  

Jackie Mitchel was the one of the first woman to play professional baseball baseball. Any at 17 even struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Graig! Yet she never got the chance to go to a World Series, win a MVP or even set records in the MLB. 

In 1943, the AAGPBL formed to continue America's pastime and bring joy to the country during the Second World War. Dorothy Ferguson Key was a second player from Manitoba who won 4 champion ships with the Rockford Peaches. She had a total of 91 stolen bases in 1951! She never got to go to a World Series.

77 years later, women still get less opportunity then men in professional baseball. The American government has progressed more with women in the last 77 years than the MLB.
