SAPOL has introduced a team of South Australian Police Officers they patrol the streets with militarised weaponry which is not necessary for the decreased crime rate in our city. We are calling on Mayor Sandra Maaike Jayne Verschoor and Commissioner Grant Stevens to address this issue. We do not believe that a 2 day training course and a few weeks target practice is deemed suitable for such weaponry to be used in our small state. We do not want a militarised police department nor do we deem it warranted.
