Grant priority to pregnant women, parents with small children, elderly and disabled people
The Issue
Pregnant women will find harder to stand in a queue than non pregnant women. Parents with children under 3 will find harder to stand in a queue holding their babies or toddlers trying to keep them quiet whilst meeting their needs than non-parent people. People over 65 yo will also find harder to wait in that queue. Same with people with physical disabilities and mental impairment. Our government need to acknowledge those who are more vulnerable and provide appropriate resources in our public and private spaces: airports, shops, post offices, pharmacies, hospitals, theatres, banks… by giving them priority to access their services and creating special queue lines or ask are non-priority public members to give away their “first arrive, first served” privilege.
We can all contribute to a better society when we acknowledge the most vulnerable and support them by providing the resources they need. Some countries already adopted those measures, what are we waiting for?
