Grant Permit for the Festival of Chariots 2025 at Pier 60

The Issue

We had the privilege of enjoying the Festival of Chariots at the Pier 60 Pavilion on Clearwater Beach for over 10 years, and it astounds me that the City of Clearwater may not grant a permit for chariot procession on south side of pier 60 to this extraordinary event in 2025. Slated for May 10 this year, the Festival of Chariots is not merely another event; it's a rich fabric of our community. It is a free-to-all, family-friendly event featuring live music, dance, classical Indian Dance, and a free vegetarian feast open to all attendees.

Considering the festival's cultural significance, public appeal, and its successful run over a decade, denying the permit feels perplexingly unjust. It stands as a testament to Clearwater's diversity, celebrating various cultures and traditions. Furthermore, by offering a free vegetarian feast, it promotes the principles of sharing and caring for one another in our community.

The festival has been happening in this location, in the same way for over 10 years now with former mayors participating and appreciating the spirit of this festival, that it brought a spiritual sound vibration to Clearwater Beach purifying entire atmosphere.

As per its long-standing tradition, the Festival of Chariots has brought us joy, unity, and cultural richness. For these reasons and more, we urge the City of Clearwater to grant chariot procession on south side of pier 60 with live music and not jeopardize this remarkable festival's continuity and to grant the permit for its operation in 2025. Please sign this petition to conserve this vital embodiment of our diverse community.
