Ziggy's Ice Cream Trucks has been serving Bend for over 12 years, we are a Family/Veteran/Latino/Women owned company. Bend Park and Rec has harassed our drivers and forced us to turn down customers in parks and public property, even leaving some young children heart broken and crying. Our mission has always been to create joy and memories for our local community. An example of the harassment, on 4th of July this year a staff member of Bend Park and Rec, came up to one of our well loved drivers and rudely shouted at her to stop what she was doing and to leave. Customers witnessed and agreed the staff member was crossing a line and being disrespectful. Our driver was on public property and on a side street of the parade. She had permission from the home owner that it was okay to park there. We have reached out numerous times to Bend Park and Rec to allow us to sell in parks and to report their less than kind employees. They have informed us that they did a survey over 8 years ago saying no food stands were wanted at the parks. We find this hard to believe while we are getting multiple calls a day all over Bend requesting us to be at the parks. People would like to have a refreshing frozen treat on a hot Summer day. We decided that starting a petition to prove that Ziggy's Ice Cream Trucks are wanted at our local parks and that our community wants us to be there for many more years to come.
