From: Cornelius Young

        Greeting Parole Board,

My name is Cornelius Young, I've been incarcerated since August 1, 2003 for the crime of murder and was sentence to life without parole..On December 30, 2021 the circuit court of Yazoo County vacated my life without parole sentence and sentence me to life with parole eligibility. On April 6, 2022 I had my parole hearing and was denied for community opposition, severness of my crime, and insufficient time.

Throughout my time I've achieved multiple certificates such as Moral Recognition Therapy(MRT), Life Skills, Inside out dad, Alcohol &Drugs, Substance Abuse, Anger management, Group Therapy Anger management, Cage your rage, Entrepreneur ship, Big Brother mentorship, Global Summit 2018, Global Summit 2019, Relay For Life, Feed my starving Children's, and etc..I'm 8 years without a Rule Violation Report(RVR) and I'm currently working in Auto Mechanics and Kitchen. But yet in still I was denied parole and set off 3 years. I've shown signs that I'm not a menace to society and I've rehabilitated since my incarceration. I have family and friends who's ready for me to be back into society. I've apologize to the victim family on numerous occasions. I was only 17 at the time of this incident. I'm 36 years of age now.

Therefore I'm asking the parole board to reconsider their decision and grant me parole so that I can be reunited with my family and friends in society. Thank you for your time.

                             Sincerely,

                  Cornelius Young
