Dear friends, neighbors, and customers of Chi Tung Restaurant,

Chi Tung Restaurant has been a pilar in the community since 1987, drawing loyal customers and friends like you, not just from our home in Evergreen Park, but from all over the Chicago Metropolitan Area and the Midwest to dine on our fine Asian cuisine and to experience the warmth and charm of this iconic restaurant. We consider all of you part of our family and our community and we hope to continue the unique spirit and experience of dining at Chi Tung well into the future.

We have battled adversity as all of you have and overcame the pandemic, with temporary closure of the restaurant dine in, juggling staff shortages and supply chain disruptions, and we want to thank you for your
support. Chi Tung believes strongly in our community which is why we generously support any number of local charities including local religious organizations, the Park District, Fire Department, and Library, among
others.

We now ask for your continued support as we hope to modernize our facility so we can meet the needs of the community for years to come. Chi Tung has spent millions of dollars on parking improvements including adding a brand-new parking lot.  Unfortunately Evergreen Park Village has a decades old ordinance that the Village itself acknowledges that most if not all businesses within the Village cannot comply with the parking requirements. We are in the process of applying for a parking variance and need your support so that we can move forward with transforming our restaurant.  

Please sign this petition evidencing your support for allowing Chi Tung to allow modernization of the facilities so it can meet the needs of the community for decades to come, but also to allow for a more reasonable
parking requirement, by Village approval of a zoning variance for Chi Tung.

We the undersigned believe that the current parking facilities of Chi Tung are more than satisfactory for its present operations and future modernization. The undersigned parties concur and hereby support Chi Tung in all its efforts for modernization, and the undersigned are in full support of a zoning variance allowing for a fair, reasonable and objective parking standard for Chi Tung’s desired improvements. The undersigned offer their full support in favor of said zoning variance and hereby petition the Village of Evergreen Park to grant Chi Tung a variance as aforesaid.
