Grant Active Fathers a Meaningful Voice in Family Law Proceedings

Grant Active Fathers a Meaningful Voice in Family Law Proceedings
The Issue
I urge you all to consider and implement important reforms in family law that will grant fathers a meaningful voice in the legal proceedings concerning custody, child support, and parenting decisions. It is our firm belief that the best interests of the child should always be the paramount concern, with neither parent unfairly bearing the blame, and that both parents should be able to participate in making decisions that affect their children's lives. Parents should not be able to utilize Children as weapons in court!
Background:
In the current family law system, fathers often face significant challenges and biases that hinder their ability to be active and involved parents. I acknowledge that mothers also face difficulties, and we are not advocating for one parent's rights to supersede the other's. Instead, we are seeking a fair and balanced approach that ensures children's well-being remains at the center of all decisions.
My Proposed Reforms:
Child-Centered Decisions: Custody and parenting decisions should prioritize the best interests of the child above all else. I have personally experienced a decision made in the Harford County Courts that was in the best interest of the mother not the child. The mother was forced to listen to the child because she was around courts. These decisions should consider factors such as the child's emotional, physical, and developmental needs, as well as their relationship with both parents. Neither parent should be favored or penalized based solely on their gender. I as the father was penalized because I support a child's best intertest as he removed his self from his mother home.
Transparent Child Support Guidelines: Child support guidelines should be transparent, fair, and based on both parents' financial capabilities. Child support should not be used as a tool to punish one parent or as a means to incentivize disputes. Also, Child support should not be used as a weapon in from both parties when it comes to settling custody. I have and still is experiencing child support being utilize as a weapon within the court of law so opposing party can rule in favor.
Regular Custody Review: Implement a mechanism for regular custody reviews to adapt to changing circumstances and ensure the child's evolving needs are met. These reviews should consider input from both parents and, when appropriate, the child's preferences.
Father's Rights: Please ensure that All capable father's voices be heard within the court of law. To often seen as well experienced being shut out after expressing the truth. Allow the truth to be heard and fair judgement made following the testimony.
Gifts: Payments made towards schooling, clothes, or any needs of the child should not be considered a gift. This law needs to be the first to change globally!
Conclusion:
I, the undersigned, believe that these reforms will lead to a more equitable family law system that protects the rights of fathers and prioritizes the best interests of children. I implore you to consider these changes and work toward a family law system that serves all families, ensuring that no parent is unfairly blamed, and that children are provided with the best possible environment to thrive.
By signing this petition, we express our collective desire for a fair and just family law system that truly represents the best interests of all parties involved. We trust that you will take our concerns into account and work toward a more balanced and child-centered approach to family law.
