The Issue

In 2007, at just 20 years old, Donte' Gwynn made the courageous decision to turn himself in to face criminal charges. This act of accountability led to a sentence of 40 years for second-degree murder and an additional 3 years for the use of a firearm. Now, 18 years into his sentence, Donte' has shown significant remorse and a transformative dedication to rehabilitation.

In 2020, Donte' took a proactive step by filing for a conditional pardon, demonstrating his sincere desire to reintegrate into society and contribute positively as a community member. Unfortunately, his plea for clemency was denied in 2022. However, undeterred and committed to change, Donte' reapplied for a conditional pardon in 2025, which is currently pending investigation.

Donte's journey over the years has been marked by consistent efforts to better himself and prepare for a future beyond prison walls. His active participation in rehabilitation programs and his exemplary conduct are testaments to his readiness for a second chance. Allowing Donte' to return to society not only acknowledges his rehabilitation but also enhances the community by reinstating a member who has learned from past mistakes.

We urge the relevant authorities to grant Donte' Gwynn a conditional pardon or modification of his sentence. Such a decision recognizes his growth and the positive change he can bring to society. Let's stand united in supporting Donte's bid for freedom and expressing our belief in redemption and second chances.

Please lend your voice to Donte's cause by signing this petition. Your support can help pave the way for his reintegration and the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
