There is a lot of struggles with proficiency-based grading like teachers aren't implementing the grading system correctly, Parents don't like it because looking at their child's grades is confusing compared to the old system, and the students also don't know their true grade until the end of the term, meaning they cannot change it easily until its too late. The main reason for proficiency-based grading is so its easier to graduate from high school, but it isn't fair to the people that are trying to get really good grades for scholarships and more.
