Grandmother last wish “To meet the grandkids”

Grandmother last wish “To meet the grandkids”
The issue
Why this petition matters
Grandparent alienation is a type of elder abuse, a term for the mistreatment of older people in a society. It occurs when grandparents are unreasonably denied meaningful opportunities to have a relationship and spend time with their grandchildren.
This grandmother has been prevented from seeing her grandchildren as her last wish. She has been a victim of domestic violence starting from 24/06/2007 and she is also victimised on false allegations on her. She is currently going through end-of-life care at palliative care in Australia. This abuse of not allowing grandmother to meet her grandkids is hidden, ignored, and disbelieved by many. It is not spoken about and is stigmatised. Those affected by it suffer in silence. Any child, parent, grandparent, or extended family member can be impacted. This serious form of abuse and family violence can no longer be ignored.
We urge you to consider this Grand mother’s wish to meet her grand kids. It hurts to lose contact with her grandchildren and it’s disheartening that grandparent have so few means of gaining access. Reaching out for support can provide you with a sense of understanding and empathy and this may need to be enough for now.
Your signature on this petition is a signature for the future of all grand mothers who may become a victim of parental separation or divorce. We are calling for a legislative change. All grandmothers shall be allowed to meet their grandchildren.
