Graduation 2025

Graduation 2025
The Issue
Dear President Repollet, Kean Faculty and Leadership,
With the announcement of the combined graduate and undergraduate graduation ceremonies, I wanted to reach out expressing my disappointment in this decision. Myself, as well as several other May 2025 graduates feel the combining of the two is unfair and takes away from the class of 2025’s respective accomplishments. Each student deserves their moment to shine at graduation. Combining the two will increase the amount of students in attendance, possibly decreasing the amount of tickets we are allowed.
Grouping the two together diminishes the distinct accomplishments of each class. Both Undergraduates and Graduates have put many years of hard work and dedication into their degrees and deserve their own, unique ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments they have earned. The ceremonies have been separate in the past, allowing all students their time in the spotlight to walk across the stage and be celebrated amongst their peers and loved ones. With the rising cost of tuition as well as the graduation and regalia costs, the countless hours spent working toward our degrees, I feel the class of 2025 deserves their own ceremonies.
It is incredibly disheartening to have worked so hard for so many years to achieve my degree, and feel my moment is being slighted through a combined ceremony. On behalf of the Class of 2025, I would urge you to reconsider this decision, and give the graduating class of 2025 their own ceremonies.
Thank you for your time
