Tikhir Naga tribe like any other Naga tribe has been part of Nagaland statehood and in existence since time immemorial with unique origin, culture and dialect, spread across the districts of Tuensang, Kiphire and Noklak with a population of 40200 as per the 2011 census- village wise count. Tikhir Tribal Council as the spear head of the tribe along with Tikhir Students' Union have been fighting for tribe recognition since 1980's but are being deprived till date. With no legislator representing the Tikhir tribe due to minor representation in 3 different constituencies(57,58 & 60), the Tikhir tribe is unable to elect it's own legislative leader. Subsequently, leading to delay of recognition and impacting various developments at large. 

There is no way that Tikhir tribe has an attachment with other tribes. The people spread across 22 Tikhir villages speak the same language, follow the same culture and tradition. There's no way different, that's why they are firm in the same spirit. Justice for them is genuine and undeniable in the eyes of God.

Therefore, as a last resort, we kindly request you to sign the petition if you feel we deserve to get justice and be a part of our new beginning.
