I'm a Les Mills Bodypump group fitness instructor. I do understand how masks can help in the gym for the weight machines and for people using free weights on the gym floor. However, while teaching a full one hour class incorporating weights and cardio, it is and has been extremely challenging to keep my job, and to keep people in the group fitness classes, as it is so challenging to do these classes with the masks on. It is nearly impossible to breathe. Every group class has social distancing circles on the floor and a capacity limit for the class to keep everyone safe. All of the instructors and participants are really wanting the mask mandate to be lifted on the group fitness classes in Nevada. My desire is to see as many people get healthy and build their immune systems through fitness, and fitness classes such as Bodypump, Zumba, Spin, Body Combat, Core, Yoga, Pilates, and Bar.
