Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, 

We, the voting citizens of Manatee County, with a vested interest in the use of our tax dollars, the education of our children, and our collective future, request that you appoint Garin Hoover to fill the vacant position of District 4 Manatee County School Board member upon Dr. Scott Hopes’ resignation. As you know, Dr Scott Hopes assumed the position of Manatee County Acting County Administrator just weeks ago.

Former  Governor. Rick Scott  appointed Garin Hoover, a real estate broker, to the Board of Trustees of New College of Florida in June 2018. An Ohio native, Hoover moved to Florida in 2004 and launched a real estate firm, Hoover Realty.

His previous experience includes working as an attorney, a credit manager, a stockholder relations analyst and a tax research specialist. Hoover also serves on the Finance Committee of the School District of Manatee County.  His service in this position has been invaluable and highlighted that much of what we champion can better be served with him as a board member.

Were an election held, we are confident that Mr. Hoover would be the voters resounding choice.  He was instrumental in the election of the board’s newest member despite her facing a long standing incumbent.  Garin has the acumen, skill set, and temperament that will serve our community well and provide better balance to the current board.
