As a strong animal lover, activist, and mother to a loving pittbull, I strongly feel that housing insurance companies need to re-evaluate their aggressive breeds list. As hard as it is to find a place to live, and pay for our pets to live with us, we then have to be told that our breed of dog is not allowed. Shelters are piling high with this breed, and one of the main causes is this. Pittbulls were once considered nursing dogs; very loving and gentle companions. Every reason behind any vicious attack/dog fights, is the owners blame and nobody else's. I feel that if we could somehow create a law in the state of Florida for insurance companies to no longer list this breed on their list , other states will follow, and we can lead by example. Not only lead by example, but the high killing animal shelters, will soon begin to demolish as more pets will be able to live with their owners. Anybody who has ever owned a pittbull, will agree 100% to this, that these animals should not be on the aggressive breeds list. This is just a start, and hopefully one day, all "aggressive" breeds will be judged as a dog , and not by their breed.
