Governor Lamont mandated that no players may play hockey AT ALL.  No teams can be formed, no practicing, NOTHING.  For the past 3 months, hockey players have complied with all the rules:  wore masks, temps taken, no locker rooms, etc.  There is no data to prove that playing hockey has spread the virus.  Choosing to make a blanket rule, making it impossible to play hockey at all for 2 months, is completely unreasonable.  At least let teams be formed and get to practice amongst themselves for these 2 months.  I don't think that is asking a lot, nor do I believe that letting a team be formed to practice together will further the spread of the virus.  Masks would be worn, temps taken, getting dressed outside, etc.  Hockey is only 5 on 5 - even Football players were allowed to have a team and play 7 on 7 and play amongst themselves!  Completely taking away someone's sport is cruel, especially for Seniors who may never get another opportunity to play this sport on a team again.  I don't think the Governor realizes the impact of totally taking away this sport has on these players.  They are devastated!  Please sign this petition if you agree that hockey players should be able to play with certain restrictions to prevent Covid-19.  Thank you.
