Companion animal overpopulation is a serious problem with far reaching ramifications. Without access to low cost spay/neuter clinics hundreds and hundreds of unwanted animals will be born, and left to fend for themselves in many cases. The initial offspring will then begin breeding, and staggering numbers will result in a brief period. Years of suffering for many of these animals is a very real possibility.

Rescue groups cannot allow animals to be adopted prior to spay/neuter. Therefore, they cannot give homes to the animals currently in their care. They are now being forced to close intake because of this. With shelters closed, where will all these animals go? Allowing spay and neuter surgery would solve many grievous issues. 

Caregivers and rescuers would diligently follow any guidelines assigned in order to help the vulnerable. 

Allowing private practices to perform spay and neuter surgery is also desperately needed, and we hope you will consider that as well.
