This petition is being instated for the reason of Student Privacy. Student Privacy is a vital role and certain companies and restrictive extensions invade minor's privacy and even block important websites. Teachers claim this application is used for "Student Monitoring" But, did you know, that Teachers can view student's tabs and any application they're on with this one little bug. Dare I say this extension IS a bug. If you're unaware of the situation, I would like to bring to your attention that teachers may also close out your tabs and see where your Chromebook is at all times. This is invasive and inappropriate. Why do schools need to view what you're doing after hours? Why do schools need to see where you are unless involved in something? 

The above questions are all reasonable. I'm not going far fetched, but this application must go. Go-guardian WOULD be good if it allowed students to keep their own privacy and lives to themselves. Such things as browser history are unnecessary to student success. As long as a child is getting their work done, this should't be allowed. Certain things like adding a program to a student bought device should not be tolerated. All people deserve respect and privacy. Every person deserves life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. 

Although this may seem a little dramatic, I am a student. My screen is most likely being watched the entire time I'm making this petition, and the district cannot stop me. This is not truancy, but rather me expressing my thoughts and beliefs to the general public of Colorado. Do you know what it feels like to have someone go through your room or a personal space without  permission? That's what it feels like for students everyday. There are no consent forms or options for this. And the best the schools can do is "narrow the restrictions" on this? I think not. Every student should have privacy of their own. And this application called Go-guardian has got to go.
