As the proud parents of school-aged children, we are writing to express our opposition to your plan to enact COVID-19 vaccine mandates for children to attend school in 2022.

We demand that medical decisions be made by parents and their children's doctors. A vaccine for a virus that has killed 0.00%-0.03% of infected children, most of whom had comorbidities, and one which neither stops the spread or prevents infection of the vaccinated individual does not warrant a mandate. Additionally, Nassau County has a 90% vaccination rate in adults and many of our children already have protection from previous exposure.

A school COVID-19 vaccine mandate imposed by the government is an overreach of power and takes away the right of parents to make medical decisions for their children.

As we all agree, the vaccine should continue to stay readily available to all eligible residents who CHOOSE to be vaccinated but we do NOT support Covid 19 vaccine mandates.
