I created this petition to make it Illegal for Veterinary Offices to not allow Owner's Accompany their Pets to appointments. This issue affects the rights of all animals, as they can not speak on behalf of themselves.

  Since the Pandemic has started thousands of Veterinary Offices have ceased to allow Owners to accompany their pets during appointments. At first this was understandable hence not knowing how the Covid-19 virus was contracted. Now however we do know that wearing a mask alone reduces the risk of contracting Covid-19 by 65%, that does not take into account all parties wearing a mask, keeping a 6ft distance and of course vaccinations. That being said many of these Veterinary Practices are still not allowing Pet Owners into the building to accompany their pets during appointments.

   As a pet owner and dog walker I have heard so many horror stories of pets being mistreated by the staff of these establishments. Instances when they are getting dragged into the buildings alone, scared, crying and sometimes defecating. And the most appalling stories of animals being euthanized without a family member in the room with them. How is this legal? This practice is causing more harm than good to our pets, not taking into account the feelings and rights of these animals. What about the pets with speration anxiety, ptsd, or that are elderly and disabled? The Medical field suggests that children under the age of 12 not be seen alone by a physician unless given consent by a parent. How is it legal that pet parents are being forced to consent to their pets being seen alone, when an animal can not speak at all for themselves!? 

It is time to take a stand for the rights of our pets. We need to put a stop to this unjust treatment of our fur family. Join me in signing this petition to put an end to this practice, making it Illegal for Veterinary Offices to not allow pet owners to accompany their pets at appointments.
