New Zealand is not a democracy. Every three years we elect into power people who do not actually represent citizens and have no obligation to do so. The decisions they make are often reflective of their own agendas. Consultations are often done with interest groups that support the government's position. Laws are passed without due process, our constitutional rights are being overlooked. People have little trust in the political system.

New Zealand is being shoehorned into a global agenda without a mandate from the people to do so.

Kiwis do not trust most politicians to represent them and they understand that in today's society it is much more feasible than ever to represent themselves rather than trust politicians to do so.

Politicians cannot possibly and do not even try to represent everyone in their constituency, instead they represent their own views or the views of those they know best.

We want to change this so that :

1/ the people and subject matter experts ultimately decide on all significant matters that affect them their community, not politicians.

2/ that expert input and supporting information is required to be collected from at least 2 opposing points of view (and all available substantive points of view) and presented to the deciding public.

3/ that a highly secure, decentralised blockchain based, decision making platform is built to manage voting, information, process, people, authentication, data from ideation to implementation so the data is held in multiple places to avoid manipulation or control by any one entity.

4/ that the system supports proxy voting enabling people to optionally vote as per that of nominated organisation and to subsequently retract their vote to nominated organisations for a given decision.

5/ that decisions are binding on the government

6/ NZ's governance and legal structure is changed to reflect this

7/ Parliament decision making power is significantly reduced.

8/ As the people are deciding and not leaders or parties anymore, elections are minor and for governing administrators only.  Because the role of parties and leaders is greatly reduced to being one of proxy only, we no longer get sidetracked on politics, parties and leaders and instead focus on substancevand impact in our community.

9/ New Zealand voters get given the tools on how to make balanced and responsible decisions for their community and understand that their voting will make a real difference to the relevant community so it must be thought through.

10/ The system works for all public decisions from local decisions in their neighbourhood, all the way up to national decisions. Local decisions are rolled out at council level, national ones at government level.

11/ There is a vetting process for subject matter experts requiring that they get vouched for by a minimum number of peers and members of the public before they become experts, and that the information presented in their case contains minimum structure, detail and answers key questions.

12/ Political parties have their role reduced to "Proxy Organisation". Members of the public can nominate a political party as being their proxy vote on a given subject. Politicians and political parties no longer get to make significant decisions.

13/ Any vetted organisation can be nominated as a proxy organisation for a given decision that needs to be made and the public can nominate them (and subsequently retract permission as they wish) to represent them on that subject.
