If the Biden-Harris Democratic ticket wins in November, California will have a vacant Senate seat. In 2018, I volunteered for Katie Porter’s Congressional Campaign and since she was elected, she has proven herself to be intelligent, progressive, and an incredible public servant. I believe that she would represent California’s interests well in the Senate as well as provide a unique perspective on matters of public policy since she is a single mother of three young children. Her voice and concern for working families is desperately needed at this time. Lastly, for over 27 years, California has had two female senators and this tradition should continue as we approach the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote.
