Justice for Lance Quick-Mental Illness is not a Crime!

Justice for Lance Quick-Mental Illness is not a Crime!
The Issue
In 2018, Lance Quick was pulled over by Bannock County police officers because he appeared to be intoxicated. It was discovered later that Lance was not intoxicated but was suffering from a mental illness and having a bipolar episode. Lance quickly deteriorated inside the jail and his mental illness worsened. Lance was not eating and at one point even spread food all over his nude body. A bed was found at a psychiatric facility for Lance; however Lance was never transported there and because of the Bannock County jails negligence, Lance Quick died of starvation on December 14, 2008 in the custody of the Bannock County Jail. An investigation into Lance's death found wrongdoing yet prosecutors claim they cannot criminally charge anyone with Lance's death because it was a result of many individuals not communicating with each other. This is inexcusable, someone needs to be charged with the murder of Lance Quick. If someone is not charged, this is bound to happen again and the next time it could be one of your loved ones. Mental illness is not a crime, Bannock County Jail needs to pay for what they did so they know that individuals are not animals and should not be treated as such. This breaks my heart that justice is not being served for Lance. Please join me in getting Justice for Lance! Please write to Governor Brad Little, to the ACLU, to President Joe Biden, to Dateline to anyone to get the story of Lance Quick all over the nation so that their can be Justice for Lance!
