On March 14th I applied for Unemployment in TN. I am a single father of 3. In addition, My eldest Daughter filed. Also, my girlfriend filed. My Daughter and I are self-employed however my girlfriend is not. As I type this the date is April 24th. To date, none of us have received a dime of unemployment benefits. The bills are piling up and I will have exhausted all funds within a couple of weeks. The TN Dept of Labor continues to promise undelivered results in the news via Chris Cannon. Certainly, this is a difficult and unprecedented time for all Tennesseans, however, our leaders must be held accountable. This plea is for Governor Bill Lee to immediately remove Jeff McCord, the Commissioner, for incompetence and negligence and appoint someone that can provide the needed help in this desperate situation that many Tennesseans find themselves in. Many of us can not wait any longer and are in desperate need. I hope our Governor listens to the people.
