News outlets and uninformed people on social media are calling ancient European symbols RACIST! I am a Heathen! ( Germanic Pagan ) We are a proud people who follow the Gods of ancient Europe! We are people of nature and family. We have a very distinct culture that is ours alone! Many things have been taken from our beliefs, many everyday things like the days of the week! 5 of the 7 days come from the names of our Gods and Goddesses. Christmas was appropriated from Yule, an ancient Nordic festival.

Of late our sacred symbols are under attack! Every time you see a Norse tattoo on tv, you can bet its called " Racist " or a " White Supremacist " symbol. This could not be further from the truth! We live in a world that tell us ( All Races ) we are all the same and we should be equal! This also is not true! We are all uniquely different and that is a beautiful thing. Our differences need to be celebrated! The KKK ( Hate Group ) has used the Christian Cross for decades to spread fear, but the cross is not considered a symbol of hate, why is that? Its true hate groups have used our symbols but they are in no way associated with TRUE Heathenry! If a person goes to jail and has a Norse or Runic Tattoo they are labled as members of a hate group! This no different than having a cross Tattoo, its religious freedom! This must stop NOW! Our people are Soldiers, Lawyers, Cops, Doctors and Parents! We are everyday people!

Please help us educate people on these symbols and stop helping to spread hate by being silent! Our Beliefs are as valid as and much older than many faiths. We cannot be held responsible for the actions of every Heathen, just like nobody can be held responsible for the actions of any single Christian, Muslim or Jewish person.
