For decades, many poor Asian nations were enticed by greed and driven by desperation to accept shipments of trash as "recycling", often without proper environmental impact studies.

Asia has become a dumping ground for trash from primarily the developed nations.  And this has caused significant damages to environment in Asia and long term health problems for the people of Asia.

As Asian nations are now developing and are generating significant amount of waste themselves, Asia should no longer accept shipments of trash from other nations.

Therefore, we petition the Governments of Asian Nations to take concrete political, legislative, and judicial steps and systematic reforms to stop the shipments of trash to Asia.
