Take a Closer Look at Overpriced Products and Services in the Philippines!
The Issue
In recent times, we can notice how high the products and services are priced. Maybe it’s normal due to the pandemic, but did you notice that there are some people who take advantage of the situation?
They’re selling the products for more than its suggested retail price. Not just that, before this pandemic started, the minimum fare of a traditional jeepney in our place before is just 9 pesos, and it is raised up to 19 pesos at the start of the lockdown, and soon goes down to 15 pesos. But we all knew that it is still considered as an overpriced service. As what I heard in news, the minimum fare of jeepneys(traditional) should be 10 pesos only.
Maybe, they’re doing that for a reason, but whatever reason is that it’s not just right. Although there are laws about protecting the consumers against overpriced products and services, we should take a closer look about this problem.
