Save these animals Now or it is too late!
The issue
Recently the issue of should palm oil be banned or not has sparked debate. However. I strongly believe that it should be banned. This is because it causes the death of many animal species of our planet, it also is proven to be unhealthy and hazardous in some cases. It should be banned immediately!
First and foremost, palm oil which comes from cutting trees should be banned because it leads to habitats of several animals being destroyed. Palm oil forests are the habitats of many species whose lives are at risk, but the orangutan is in the most danger. Every hour 300 football fields of precious remaining orangutan habitat are being plowed to make palm oil. Every time you buy palm oil, you contribute to the extinction of orangutans. This causes causing 1000-1500 orangutans to meet death each year. Scientists believe that all of the orangutan population could go extinct within the next 10 years if the same continues. We must take immediate action to stop the innocent orangutans from meeting extinction. Therefore, such palm oil should not be considered by any household at any cost.
Secondly, palm oil should not be consumed because it is extremely unhealthy compared to other oils. Palm oil is about 34% of saturated fat whereas olive oil is less than half of that. Some products include baking oil chocolate, chips, and cookies. Consumption of saturated fat can lead to a high risk of heart disease and chronic health conditions. This has caused several deaths all over the world. Hence, it is apparent that palm oil is unhealthy and can be hazardous in some cases.
Although palm oil has many negative effects, some argue that palm oil should not be banned as it is affordable. However, what this argument fails to consider is that we must take such actions if we want to save our planet and its species. If we continue using palm oil, many species’ especially orangutans could go extinct within the next few decades. Therefore, the negative impacts of palm oil far outweigh the potential benefits.
In conclusion, palm oils hold be banned. This is because it causes habitat loss of many species of animals leading to the extinction of those in danger. Also, it is scientifically proven to be unhealthy and dangerous. In the end, it is obvious that palm oils should be banned in all the countries in order to save our planet’s species. We MUST take action NOW. BAN PALM OIL!
Please sign my petition in order for the government to take actions and save the innocent species which are being devastated by the cutting of trees for palm oil
