The U.S.A’s speed limit needs to be increased due to it being outdated. Back when these speed limits were put into place, cars were much slower, and there was more risk due to the lack of technology and knowledge of operating a vehicle. Now times are different. Cars are safer, and people are more aware. There is actually more risk for a slow driver, then a “fast” driver. It would be more beneficial to the citizens and police if the U.S.A’s speed limits were increased. Less people would be pulled over and provided with tickets, less cops would have to waste time providing irrelevant and useless citations or tickets to people just trying to get to work, home, etc. In this day and age, an increased speed limit is just more ethical. People who cause, and flea accidents are the ones that should be provided with tickets, citations, and fines. Not people going 52 in a 45, or 75 in a 60. If city speed limits were raised from 45 to 55, and highway speed limits were raised from 60 to 80, the world would be a better place.
