Screening for all those exposed to asbestos

The Issue

Our Government has a duty of care to those affected or who will be affected by exposure to asbestos. This poisonous substance was known to be life threatening for decades but the Government did not act to ban it until the late 90's. The effects of asbestos poisoning lay dormant for 30 to 50 years and once symptoms appear it is nearly always too late. My father has mesothelioma which is cancer of the lung lining and secondaries in the brain as a direct result of asbestos exposure. I am calling on the Government to provide screening for all those working within the building industry who have been exposed to asbestos over the years to try to prevent what my father is now having to go through. I believe people from the age of 50 should be screened every 3 years. Please forward this to everyone you know so we can make this positive change for others.
