In view of the devastating fires affecting forests and communities in the South West of Western Australia and in consideration of the horrific damage caused to the forests, wildlife and ecosystems during the most recent fires, we seek your urgent attention to this matter.

Your petition therefore respectfully request the Legislative Council to request the Western Australian State Goverment to immediately:

1. Put in place a comprehensive prescribed burning programme covering the Forests, Reserves and National Parks of the South West region to the target of 8% per year, and:

2. That adequate funding for Day and Night Burning be made available to ensure that this target is achievable.

And your petitioners as in duty bound, will ever pray.
