Stop Hindi Imposition

Stop Hindi Imposition
The Issue
India is a country formed by unifying people with different cultures, regions, and traditions. One big threat to India's 'Unity in Diversity' is Hindi Imposition. Hindi is not our national language, it's just one of the official languages. There are 22 scheduled languages in India which are spoken throughout India by the millions. Every single language spoken in India has a rich culture, heritage, tradition, and classified literature. In India, people learn, speak and use their mother tongue/regional language for all sorts of official and unofficial communication purposes. During Independence, the states in India were divided based on languages and it was agreed that no language will become a national language.
But the Government of India wants to create a "Hindi Nation" and it wants to make Hindi as a compulsory language in schools as well as try to impose Hindi in all possible means. I want to learn and speak in my regional language and I should not be forced to learn any other language which I am not interested in. It's not just the Government of India but many Hindi speaking people also force other regional language speakers to learn and speak in Hindi.
The situation outside India is even worse, I get frequent discriminations while living in Germany as a student because I'm a non-Hindi speaker. Some of the native Hindi speaking Indians (Students/Working professionals) living in Germany discriminate us by asking questions like "Why can't you learn and speak Hindi?", "Aren't you ashamed of calling you as Indian without knowing Hindi?" They also try to impose it by saying, "Hindi is India's mother/national language and every Indian must know it". I could see this mentality here very often. They preach to us that it's a sin if we don't know/speak Hindi. The worst part is that the student's WhatsApp groups(which were created only to pass important information) were dominated by few Hindi-Speakers and they want to communicate only in Hindi even if many of us don't understand it. And if other regional speakers share something there in our language, they get offended. Not everyone is doing it but those who do it have no respect for me or my language.
Some Germans and other foreign nationals living here were also misinformed that Hindi is India's national language and all Indians speak Hindi. There have been several incidents the foreigners try to greet us in Hindi and we have to explain to them that Hindi is not our language. Even the university staff, Government officials like Police, my housekeeper most of them think/misinformed that everyone from India can converse in Hindi. But that's not true, there are South Indian states like Tamil Nadu where the majority of people don't even know basic words in Hindi. This kind of language discrimination should not be continued. We are not bound to do this so we are making a petition to stop Hindi imposition in India and abroad. Enough is enough. Let us speak in our mother tongue.
