It is well understood that the Bankers' Wage Settlement is due from Nov 01, 2017 which is almost whopping two and half year delay. We are also well aware of the fact that Ministry of Finance shot various communications to the concerned parties like Indian Banks Association for the early wage settlement, but somehow the settlement did not materialize on ground.

During the various meetings between the IBA and Bankers' Union, it is understood that both the parties have reached to an agreement on the quantum of increase in the Bankers' Wages - an interim relief had also been provided on that basis - and therefore it would be prudent to provide the increased wages to the Bankers' on the salary component, at least, as Bankers' are already suffering from low wages in comparison to the amount of workload on them.

Needless to mention, the Bankers' as a community, are the economic soldiers of the country and have always been at the forefront of Nation's Development. At the cost of repetition, we are the one carrying the loads of various Government Schemes on our shoulders. As a corporate, we earn our expenses by ourselves which also includes our wages; and at the same time, we pay our taxes and dividends to the government. Considering the amount of delay, the Government must take initiative to increase Bankers' Wages at the earliest so that we can also live a dignified life in the society.
