This petition is to save and protect a very criticized and oppressed group of people in India which are being abused by every regime since 1500's in the country, commonly known as Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Christians(debatable). The main objectives and reasons of this petition are:

• India is a secular country where everyone is entitled to equality, as it has been stated on numerous occasions in the recent times. Therefore, partiality among the citizens(who are valid and legal residents of this country) must not be observed in any form. The implementation of this law will ensure that the system is not biased towards any one specific group of people.
• To give you just an example of the degree of injustice pressed by this system, our brothers belonging to Islam are allowed to marry up-to four women at a time, while Sikh, Christian, Jain and Hindu men are bound by law to have only one wife. How come this is not a slap in the face of the very constitution this nation is built around  giving equality to everyone?
• Our fellow Muslim men and women of this country follow the Muslim Personal Law Application Act, 1937 which allows polygamy(the practice of marrying multiple women). But in reality, this very law in place discriminates against Muslim women in three distinct ways; which are; (1) A Muslim man is allowed to marry up to four wives at a time; (2) He can divorce his wife without entering into any legal processes(recently modified); (3) He does not need to provide financial support to his ex-wife after three months of the divorce, whereas men of every other religion are presumably required to support their ex-wives forever.
  However interestingly enough, Goa has no such  provision, where the state has implemented Uniform Civil Code under which every individual is really considered equal, no matter their religion, caste or colour.

So please stand up, and raise your voice against this discrimination innocent people  are being subjected to since time memorial. Stand up and raise your voice to save the soul of this Constitution where it has been neglected since before the independence.
